Resumption of direct flights between Libya and Qatar
Transportation Minister Mohamed Al-Shahoubi announced the resumption of direct flights between Libya and Qatar during a meeting between Prime Minister Abdulhamid Al-Dbeiba and His Highness the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, in Doha. Al-Shahoubi explained that this decision comes as a culmination of a previous agreement signed between the ministries of transportation and civil aviation authorities in both countries, paving the way for the resumption of direct flights via Libyan and Qatari airlines starting next October. The minister pointed out that this step reflects the noticeable progress in developing the infrastructure of Libyan airports and improving operational efficiency according to international safety and security standards. Al-Shahoubi also confirmed the ministry's continued efforts to develop the aviation sector and enhance the readiness of Libyan airports to host international flights, contributing to facilitating passenger movement and strengthening economic and trade relations between Libya and Qatar.
